Raise the Flag Challenge

To: All women of the East Coast Conference

From: Conference Women Ministries Global Missions

Subject: Help us bring a woman from a foreign country to Triennial 2013

Every 3 years, women of the Evangelical Covenant Church from around the world are invited to Triennial, our international women’s conference. Most can’t afford to come without help. So each season, the Women Ministries conferences adopt a foreign attendee to help with travel, housing, and hospitality. In the past the East Coast has hosted women from Japan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Spain. As you can imagine, expenses can be quite high. So every year the conference Women Ministries Leadership Team plans to set aside funds to cover the expense.

How do I join the Raise the Flag challenge?

In 2012, each of you is challenged to use your God-given gifts and talents to create something that we can sell at a bazaar at the Pilgrim Pines Retreat. Whether you knit, crochet, embroider, quilt, stamp, scrapbook, bead, cook, can, preserve, sew, (you name it), you can contribute. Make your item, put your name and church on it and suggest a sale price. Then bring or send it to The Pines retreat in September 2012.

You don’t have to do this alone. Get others involved and have fun while you work! Together we can Bridge the Miles and create a once in a lifetime experience for a sister somewhere else in the world.

If you have questions or concerns, contact Olinda.3(at)netzero.com, the conference Global Missions Chair.
